Anna Mac Clarke, a Lawrenceburg, KY, native, was the first black woman in Kentucky to enlist in t the military during WII. She was a member of the Women's Army Auxiliary Corp (WAAC) and ultimately became a Third Office, commanding a WAAC platoon. Her legacy reminds us that courage and determination can break barriers.
