We can’t wait to see all of our grandparents on Friday, September 25, 2026! Please join us for a special Dolly-themed Grandparents Day lunch filled with good food, sweet memories, and a whole lot of love. Please see the attached flyer for lunch times. Grandparents will eat with their youngest grandchild. Lunch is $5.50 per person, payable by cash or check at the door. We hope this special day is one you’ll treasure, creating a “Coat of Many Memories” that stays in your heart for years to come. We can’t wait to see you!
Good morning Eastern Wildcats! We are excited that Friday, September 25 is Grandparents Day! If you plan on your child leaving on Friday with their grandparents, please send a note before Friday. This helps the office staff to prepare ahead of time. Please remember- if your child leaves before 12:00 it will be counted as a half day absence. If your child leaves after 12:00 it will be counted as a tardy. Please encourage your child to stay and finish out the day! Thank you! We look forward to seeing all our grandparent's on Friday!
The North Eastern Family Resource Center is pleased to offer a special program to select families during the Christmas holiday season.
Our Christmas Assistance Program works much like the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. We hope that offering this to your family will lessen the stress often associated with the holiday season.
Because of new eligibility regulations, we must complete verification before we can officially add your name to the program.
1. Appointment made with Mrs. Montgomery to sign up and bring verification of SNAP benefits and Social Security cards or other ID for everyone in the household
2. Attend a school event (PTO, Parent-Teacher conference, Trunk or Treat, Awards Day, etc.)
3. Attend a FRC-sponsored event
A. Caregiver meeting at the Extension office 11:00 Sept. 25th, Oct. 23rd, Nov. 14, Dec. 11th, Jan.22nd, Feb. 19th, March 26th, and April 23rd (if you are raising a child that is not biologically yours)
B. Ready Set Grow at Eastern every Friday starting Sept. 11th - May 7th, 9:00-10:30
C. Baby Safety Shower April 29th, 2027
D. Ready Set Grow at Cumberland Presbyterian Church starting on Feb. 5th- March 26th, 9:00-10:30 (If you have a child 3 or 4 who is not enrolled in a preschool program.
If your family would like to participate in the Christmas Assistance Program, please contact Felicia Montgomery at 270-678-4480 to set up an appointment. The appointment can be in the office or at your home. The deadline to sign up will be Oct. 1st.
If you'd like to get your child a free haircut the day before fall pictures, contact Felicia Montgomery at 270-678-4480. You'll need to fill out a permission slip before your child can participate in this event.

Kentucky Safe Schools Week starts MONDAY! This year’s theme is “Strong Roots, Safe Schools,” and we’re excited to spend the week learning, growing, and working together to make Eastern a kind, respectful, safe, and supportive place for everyone! And, of course, we’re making it fun with a dress-up theme each day!

Please apply sunscreen before school. Students may bring a change of clothes. All primary students will be done with water prior to lunch. No bathing suits this year. Towels, refillable water bottles and drawstring bags are optional-please label. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions.
