Hello to all. Let me begin by introducing myself. I am Ronny Kay Atteberry, the Special Needs teacher here at Park City Elementary. I began my teaching career here August 2006. My classroom includes two wonderful instructional assistants and children with all types of mental/functional disabilities. If you should happen to stop by for a visit and notice the dividers everywhere in the classroom it is due to the fact that my classroom is set up according to the structured teaching model which was developed for working with students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
If you should look closer at things in the room, you will see several pictures sitting around of my life outside of the classroom. I have one daughter, Raeleigh Ray. She is very full of energy, very smart, loves to read, loves to talk, loves make-up, and keeps me on my toes when I am not in the classroom. Watching her grow and learn new things daily is such a wonderful blessing. We have one dog (Maggie). My hobbies/interests include being outside, four-wheeling, truck pulls, drag races, singing karaoke, dancing, mud slings, and spending time with my family and friends.
I love working with the special needs children. I need the challenge that my job brings every day to give me the strength to make it through. The progress and the love that I see in each child is a blessing! Even on a bad day in the classroom, I can always find the good!
