Staff Profile

Mrs. Kenny Carey
Faculty - Park City Elementary
A. Superintendent - District

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Kenny Carey and I am beginning my 19th year of teaching.  I am an Exceptional Education (ECE) Teacher and I currently work with grades 3rd & 4th.  I work with many different developmental levels of  students, but I specialize in teaching students who need extra help in the areas of either math, reading, writing, and/or behavior/social skills. I have a busy schedule throughout the day going from class to class co-teaching with Mr. Jackson and Mrs. Goodman, as well as having small groups in my classroom.  On October 23, 2020, I will be married 27 years to Brian Carey.  Brian is a physical therapy assistant and works for H2 Health in Glasgow.  He is currently doing physical therapy in the Southern Kentucky Orthopedics Building in Glasgow.  We have 3 sons.  Hunter will be 24 in September, Trapper turned 21 in May, and Colt will be 16 in December.  We have 3 dogs:  Major, Jessie, and Gus.  We have a few outside cats that help keep mice and snakes away.  I graduated from Hart County High School in 1989 and completed my undergraduate and graduate college work at Western Kentucky University.  We attend Immanuel Ministry Church in LeGrande, Ky where I am a part of the praise and worship team.  (Check us out on fb live each Sunday morning at 10:30am).  We live in the Seymour-Park community, which is near the Hart Co/Barren Co line.  Our home is just a few miles from the birthplace and former home of former governor, Louie B. Nunn.  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  I love having fun in the sun during the summer but fall is one of my most favorite times of year.  Christmas is my favorite holiday.  I love to cook and entertain friends, but I don't like to clean up afterwards, lol.  I love Mickey Mouse and anything Disney.  Even though I haven't been very many times, the beach and Disney are my favorite places to visit.  I also love going to the Smoky Mountains when it is cooler outside. I collect Disney Hallmark ornaments as well as other series of non-Hallmark & Hallmark ornaments such as:A Christmas Story, It's a Wonderful Life, Elf, Christmas Vacation, any of the older clay-mation Christmas cartoons (Rudolph, Snow Miser, Heat Miser, Frosty, etc), The Office, etc.  I love "The Office" and I have watched it more times than I can count. I love to laugh and have fun while learning.   I love my students and I want the best for them.  I want them to know that they are loved, safe, and cared for and that each of them has a special gift and talent to share with the world.  I teach them that no matter what life throws at them, they can use those difficult times as stepping stones and not crutches.  I want them to be their best self in and out of the classroom.

You will find your student's assignments from me through a link on their homeroom's, Google Classroom.  Their primary assignments will be from their homeroom teachers but I will also assign supplemental work that aligns with their developmental needs, according to their IEP, Individualized Education Plan.
