I believe effort and attitude are what make you successful. Try hard and stay positive. Set goals and work hard to achieve them. Have a "Growth Mindset."
I am entering my 13th year of teaching 6th grade at Temple Hill. I am a 2005 graduate of WKU with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I also have an Associate Degree in Business Management from WKU. I hold an Environmental Education endorsement from WKU, and obtained my master's degree in elementary education in May 2011. In the fall of 2014 I became a National Board Certified Teacher and received my Rank I. For the past four summers I have worked at Mammoth Cave National Park as a Park Ranger where I help plan summer camps and instruct students who attend summer camps.
I have been married for 35 years to my high school sweetheart Tim Sherfey. We have two daughters, Amanda Crawford (husband Andy), a speech therapist at T.J. Samson in Glasgow, and Tara Beth Rigsby (husband Dakota), a registered dental hygienest. I have three GRANDsons, Reid, Trace, and Oliver. I also have one GRANDdaughter, Kennedy Beth!
In my spare time I love to read and go camping. My husband and I also enjoy motorcycle riding. He does the driving, and I just sit back and enjoy the scenery. In June of 2017 we traveled back to Canada and visited Nova Scotia (Cape Briton) and Prince Edward Island. In 2014 we rode our motorcycle to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. In 2013 we rode about 3300 miles to Canada. While on our trip we visited Gettysburg, PA and Niagara Falls. In the summer of 2011, we rode almost 4900 miles out west to the Grand Canyon.
I am a member of Dover Missionary Baptist Church near Mt. Hermon where my husband serves as a Deacon and church treasurer.
I have a wonderful pet companion, a pomeranian named Cooper. He's just a little spoiled!
