Parent/Teacher Relationship

We believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year we will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, grade cards, this school web site, parent-teacher conferences and weekly newsletters. We encourage you to contact us if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can call us at school (270-427-2611), send us a note or e-mail. We are available for conferences regarding your child’s progress during our daily planning periods (12:45-1:30) and any time after 2:30 in afternoons. Please provide notice.

Changes in Transportation

If you plan to pick up a child that normally rides the bus or you wish for your child to ride a different bus than usual, you must send a written note. To be clear, any and all changes in transportation must be sent by note or communicated to the office per a parent or an authorized adult.   If no written note or office communication is received, your child will be sent home by his/her usual method of transportation.

If you are interested in having a birthday party for your child in school, we ask that you inform us at least a week in advance. Cupcakes are great! Birthday parties are held at the end of the day.

Daily Folder

There will be a daily folder sent home each day. Any papers placed on the left side of the opened folder should be returned to school and any papers on the right side should stay at home. This folder is a tool used in our classroom daily.

Newsletters are sent home weekly. This is a communication system school wide. Newsletters will either come home on Monday or Tuesday of each new week. Please watch your child’s red folder. The newsletter will contain first grade information and school wide news.
