Meet Our Counselors
Alicia Wren Haley is a native of Marion County. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Middle School Math and Social Studies from Campbellsville University in 2009 and a Master's degree in School Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands in 2012. Ms. Haley has also received her National Board certification in Early Adolescent Math in 2015 and in 2017, received her Education Specialist certification (Rank 1) in School Counseling.
Ms. Haley began her teaching career in Barren County as a math teacher at Barren County Middle School in 2009. She has served in a variety of leadership roles including cheerleading sponsor, FEA sponsor, and Yearbook Advisor. Ms. Haley began her role as guidance counselor at BCMS in 2015.
Kelly Pennington is a native of Metcalfe County. She double majored in Psychology and Communication at Lindsey Wilson College. After graduating from LCW in 2004, she began her career as a teacher in Metcalfe County. She earned her Master's degree in Exceptional Education from Western Kentucky University in 2006. She continued her education at Western Kentucky University and obtained her Rank 1 in school counseling in 2008.
Throughout her 15 years in education, she has served in a variety of leadership roles including student governrment sponsor, basketball coach, golf coach, and softball coach. Ms. Kelly began her role as a guidance counselor at Metcalfe County Middle School in 2011. She transitioned over to Barren County Middle School in 2018. She is married to Steven Pennington. She has two daughters, Danica and Kinley Stephens, and one son, Grayson Pennington.
