Meet Our Counselors
Amy Irwin is a native of Metcalfe County. She began working in the Barren County School District in 2001 as an Exceptional Education Counselor at Barren County High School and Middle School. Mrs. Irwin earned a bachelor's degree in Social Studies from Western Kentucky University in 1995 and a Master's degree in School Counseling from WKU in 1997. Mrs. Irwin completed her Rank I in Counseling from WKU in 2004. She began her teaching career in Warren County as a Social Studies teacher at Warren East High School. After teaching social studies for 6 years, Mrs. Irwin was employed as a counselor in the Barren County District. She served as the Director of the Barren Academy of Virtual and Expanded Learning from 2004-2006 before returning to a counseling position at Barren County Middle School.
Linda Priore is a native of Metcalfe County. She moved to Barren County to begin her teaching career at Hiseville School, January 1973. Ms. Priore graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. Furthering her education, she returned to WKU to complete a Masters in Elementary Education and a Rank I in Counseling with an Individual Intellectual Endorsement. After teaching 4th, 5th and 6th grade social studies at Hiseville for 15 years, Ms. Priore was employed as a counselor at four of the elementary schools in the Barren County District. She has been the counselor at Barren County Middle School since its beginning, fall of 1994. Ms. Priore has been named Elementary PTA Counselor of the Year, Middle School Counselor of the Year, and Extended School Services Coordinator of the Year.
