As a 1987 graduate of Barren County High, I am thrilled and honored to serve as principal. This is an awesome place to live and go to school. We have outstanding facilities, and offer a multitude of learning opportunities for our students.
Our goal is for all of our students to be college/career ready when they depart BCHS. We have an excellent faculty that loves the students, and will work hard to provide opportunities and to push them to be the very best, academically and socially.
We strive to develop 21st century literacy skills in all our students through a rigorous curriculum where students have the opportunity to read, research, create, reflect, and write for a community of learners.
Our courses and extracurricular activities focus on areas such as health, financial literacy, physical education and career readiness. Our school’s doors are always open to guest speakers who are willing to share information to educate and motivate our students
In an era where many school districts have cut the arts program funding, BCHS has invested in the arts and sees the benefits our students, schools and community have reaped as a result. From orchestra, band, art, drama and dance our students have multiple opportunities to specialize in the arts. In addition, all students have a cross curricular connection to the arts and opportunities to experience quality arts and humanities at BCHS.
Our stakeholders are always welcome to visit us, and we want to continue to reach out to parents and the community, and push our students to be the very best they can be.
Great things are ahead for BCHS!!
